Helped Get Therapy for My Family
Voices for Dignity has helped my family so much! Christine Marie, the founder, acted as a mediator with the UEP Trust to help negotiate my family’s ability to stay in our home, when eviction was threatened. They have helped us obtain food from the food bank. They have provided us with a place to do our home schooling as well as bringing in school supplies. They gave my son a place to live for a short time when he was in a desperate situation. They helped get therapy for my family when we were dealing with some severe emotional issues. I honestly don’t know how we would have gotten through some of our hardest times, without the help from Voices for Dignity.

Our Lives Have More Dignity
Voices for Dignity heard we were moving into our new house without furniture or appliances. They reached out to their resources and provided living room and dining room furniture, and many very helpful small appliances.
Also, they comforted us in our time of bereavement. Thanks to everyone involved in Voices for Dignity. Our lives have more dignity because of them.

Educational Help
Voices for Dignity supplied me with a big comfortable classroom, restrooms, and kitchen for schooling, and school supplies. This benefited 14 students. Also they let us use the big room for big Prenda school activities such as Science Fair and Art Fair where many many children and parents got to come and enjoy the children’s creations. Thank you so much.

Always Been There for Us
Voices for Dignity has always been there for us. They listened to our heart-rending tales when we were driven from our home. They provided small jobs for our sons to help them make ends meet. They’ve provided food, clothing, and shelter when we’ve been away from home. They often put others’ needs before their own. One cold winter day, the director took the coat right off her back and gave it to my husband, which we were so grateful for.

Participant Quotes from a Critical Thinking Class we sponsored.
“This course, Critical Thinking and Coercion, opened my mind to many incredible and helpful concepts and studies that show just how ‘good people’ with strong values and desires become victims of psychological coercion.”

“I’ve learned of ways to heal and reduce anxiety. I’ve been made aware of many programs and professional counseling that are available to stay safe.”
♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
“The class on manipulation and coercion was so revealing and astounding, I cannot even express how much I needed this awareness to prevent the trauma and tragedy I have experienced with my family.”
♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
“Who am I anymore? How did this happen to me? It was incredible for me to study this very aspect of how this happened to me. I only had good desires and yet I found myself coming to a great realization that I was in a cult.”

“(Through this course) I have come to know and understand about cognitive dissonance and have felt that strong discomfort a person feels when their behavior does not align with their values or beliefs, where I was trying to hold two contradictory beliefs at the same time. I now understand how a predator applies that pressure in such a way that a person becomes willing to alter their standards to reduce that discomfort.”

“I learned many things in the Critical Thinking class that have been very enlightening and helpful. Primarily the understanding that I was vulnerable and subjected to things that sabotaged my critical thinking, although I did not understand it at the time. Now that I understand this, it has allowed me to move forward to gain the necessary education to avoid a repeat of this in the future.”

“I now understand is the role of the imbalance of power, and how the power can be abused to exploit others.”

“(In this course) I learned how predators groom and manipulate. Some people even disguise their intentions as religious to save everyone else, when in reality, they have predatory intentions from the beginning. I missed many red flags that are so clear to me now.”

“I used to scoff at the impact of trauma and fear on thinking, but now I realize how that was used against me.”

“The class was extremely inclusive and shockingly revealing. It helped me better understand my previous and current conditions. It helped me realize that I was still in denial about some things. My personal feeling is that there was so much helpful information in there it was like trying to drink from a firehose. It has increased my confidence in my ability to understand, manage, and protect myself and family from predatorial advances from dangerous people.”
